COMING UP IN IN JUST A LITTLE BIT. RICH, THANK YOU VERY MUCH STARTING TODAY. YOU’RE GOING TO BE PAYING MORE FOR PARKING ACROSS THE CITY OF AUSTIN STREET PARKING RATES ARE NOW TWO DOLLARS AN HOUR, WHICH IS DOUBLE WHAT IT WAS IN MANY PLACES AND IT COULD GET EVEN MORE EXPENSIVE IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS CHRIS DAVIS FOUND THAT OUT HIS LIFE FOR US IN DOWNTOWN. AUSTIN. CHRIS STRATIFICATION OFFICIALS ARE SAYING THIS IS ENOUGH FOR YOU. MAYBE OPEN UP SOME OF THE OTHER OTHER PARKING SPOTS AROUND TOWN. THAT’S RIGHT. SO THIS EARLY YOU DON’T REALLY HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THESE PARKING METERS OF COURSE OR THAT NEW $2 PER HOUR RATE. YOU CAN SEE THAT STICKER THERE, BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF SPOTS TO CHOOSE FROM THIS EARLY AS WELL ONCE DOWNTOWN STARTS TO GET BUSY THOUGH THESE SPOTS DISAPPEAR AND IT CAN BE DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A SPOT ON THE STREET. SO THE AUSTIN TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENTS BUMPED UP THAT COST PER HOUR TO CHANGE THAT THE IDEA IS IF PARKING IS BEN MOORE’S POSSIBLE TURNOVER 31 ABOUT 15% OF THE SPOTS ON ANY GIVEN BLOCK TO BE OPEN TO DOLLARS AN HOUR IS JUST A STARTING POINT HERE EARLY NEXT YEAR A TD WILL START A SERIES OF STUDIES TO FIGURE OUT IF THEY’RE HITTING THAT 15 PERCENT GOAL. IF NOT, THEY’RE GOING TO RAISE THE PRICE MORE AND IT COULD DIFFER EVEN BLOCK BY BLOCK CITY COUNCILMEMBER KATHY TOVO REPRESENTS THE MOST OF DOWNTOWN. SHE SAYS SHE’LL BE WATCHING THIS PROCESS CLOSELY IF WE ANOTHER SHORT PERIOD OF TIME YOU CAN BET THAT I WILL BE ASKING A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT IT BECAUSE WE DO, YOU KNOW, WE WANT TO SEE OUR BUSINESSES DOWNTOWN THRIVE AND AND FOR SOME OF THEM THAT DOES MEAN PROVIDING PROVIDING THAT ACCESS TO PEOPLE WHO ARE ARE COMING DOWNTOWN IN A VEHICLE. AT PROVO AND TRANSPORTATION OFFICIALS ALSO POINTED TO THE AFFORDABLE PARKING PROGRAM. THAT OFFERS PASSES MONTHLY PASSES THE PARK AT DIFFERENT CITY GARAGES AND EVEN PRIVATE LOTS PER MONTH OR 35 TO 65 DOLLARS AND THEY SAY THERE ARE STILL ROOM FOR

More than one way to turn free people into slaves. Democrats raise taxes to push people who were just getting by into dependence on government. They keep doing that until there is no more middle class. Only rich and poor. Look at what democrats have done to the middle class in California.

Meanwhile people whom dont/can't pay get tickets or sent to collections. Sometimes being sued.they won't be able to register their car and could lose it or a job.all because instead of INSENTIVES like the rich get to change their behavior (doesn't work) the poor and working class get price increases and manipulative policies to DETER and FORCE people to do what you want them to do. We aren't cows to be herded and slaves to be exploited and divested of all our hard earned funds. THIS IS WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION. THIS IS REGRESSIVE TAXATION. OUR WAGES HAVE NOT GONE UP IN 40 years, look at all these extra costs incurred, this time because the city doesn't just ask politely and improve public transportation to town. Will these new fares fund public transportation? Or will they just go into the "general" fund? Will some middle class roomie of a rich kid cash in a favor and create a company just to handle parking fees, inexplicably given a no bid contract and make themselves a millionaire with their innovative ideas like a telecommuting accounts receivable that's processing credit card transactions that's ontrend with paperless monthly statements?
