David Hogg says young voters are rejecting wealthy politicians: ‘Why should they fix the world they

Parkland survivor David Hogg said younger voters are looking for political leaders who are more like them in one very important — but often overlooked — way  The gun safety activist appeared Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where he pointed to an underreported trend in American politics as a new generation of voters starts casting ballots  “I think one important factor is the fact that, when it comes to voting for people, young people,” Hogg said, “we are starting to see this shift in America that not only around voting for young people, but around the fact that when wealthier people are running, younger people are starting to think, why would these people want to fix the world that, quite frankly, a lot of us think that they messed up ”  “Like the president being a billionaire,” he added, as co-host Mika Brzezinski chuckled “These people that are creating a lot of the problems we he face as a nation right now are coming back into politics and saying they want to solve them, when in reality they’re in it for themselves — and that’s the truth ”
