Arsenal fans go wild as Wilfried Zaha ‘likes’ Nicolas Pepe transfer announcement

The Crystal Palace winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer  But Arsenal have smashed their transfer record to land £72m star Pepe. This could mean Zaha’s move to the Gunners fails to materialise, due to the fact Unai Emery does not have a wealth of funds at his disposal this summer  The Premier League’s official Instagram account posted news of Pepe’s announcement this evening, which was subsequently liked by the Palace star  Pepe and Zaha play together for the Ivory Coast – which could be the main reason the post was liked  But it didn’t stop Arsenal fans taking the social media to highlight the incident  “He can come too.who needs a defence anyway!” one said. “We going to get him too when he forces himself out of Palace next week,” one wrote  “@wilfriedzaha you come too fam we on the roll now,” another wrote. “He must be so hurt,” added a fourth    “Even if we signed Zaha now he’d still improve our squad. He’s a good player,” said one  Speaking after his record move to Arsenal, Pepe said: “Being here is very emotional because it has not been easy for me  “I have come a long way and struggled a lot and so signing for this great club is a big reward  “It was my family and my agents. We talked and thought a lot about it.  “It was at the time of the CAN [Africa Cup of Nations] as well, we thought a lot during, before and after the CAN  “It was important to make the right decision and I am convinced that Arsenal is the right choice ” Head coach Emery added: “Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe  “Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I’m delighted he’s joining  “He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team ”
