1 Million Women, 1 Million in Wealth with Factora | Capital One

ALLEGRA: Ultimately the mission
is one million women to one million in net worth, and I’m not stopping
until we get there. ♪ ♪ My name is Allegra Moet Brantly,
and I am the founder of Factora. I am an only daughter,
raised by a single mother. Definitely saw her work ethic,
but I also saw her struggling with finances. After I’d gone to school
and got a job in New York, I realized just because
you make more money doesn’t mean you have more money. And ultimately that’s what led me
to founding Factora, because it was so hard for me
to figure this stuff out that I wanted women to have
what I didn’t have. So Factora’s core values
are to inspire, support, educate, and ultimately create a community
around wealth-building for women. When women come
to a Coffee & Coin event, I interview a woman on her financial life
before an audience of other women. I really get these women to open up, talk about their net worth,
their debt, their goals, and then also their life,
because it’s all intertwined. My only hope is that they get
a little bit more comfortable talking about money. Maybe you start with just your friends, but then ultimately you’re willing to do it
with strangers in a Factora circle, and it’s really empowering. Women who are coming out
of these circles have typically 30,000 more in net worth
within nine months. They are slashing debt, opening their first brokerage accounts
outside of their retirement accounts. I don’t want women
to feel the way I did– intimidated, fearful, just very scarcity mindset
around money. The most critical thing
a woman can have is financial freedom.
